The Peugeot 308 SW is the station-wagon version of the third-generation 308 compact family car, offering enhanced practicality while retaining sleek European styling. Available globally in petrol, plug-in hybrid, and electric variants, the 308 SW provides spacious cargo space and refined comfort. In Saudi Arabia, Peugeot does not officially import the 308 SW, so any units available in KSA are brought in via parallel-import channels. It targets buyers needing stylish family transport or cargo flexibility in a premium compact estate format rarely seen in local offerings.
Imported Peugeot 308 SW models typically include plug-in hybrid and fully electric variants. The plug-in hybrid version combines a 1.6-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with direct injection, producing 150 hp and 250 Nm of torque. It pairs with a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor that generates 125 hp and 118 Nm of torque. The system delivers a total combined output of 195 hp. This variant offers a WLTP electric-only range of up to 60 kilometers and consumes approximately 1.2 to 1.4 litres per 100 km.
The fully electric e-308 SW is equipped with a 54 kWh battery and a single electric motor producing 156 hp and 260 Nm of torque. It provides a WLTP-certified range of up to 413 kilometers.
The 308 SW adopts the aerodynamic cues of the fastback 308 but extends body length by around 28 cm, resulting in overall length near 4.64 m and a longer wheelbase that enhances rear passenger legroom by about 5.5 cm over the hatchback. Exterior features include a flowing roofline ending in a subtle tailgate spoiler, sleek LED headlights, and premium alloy wheel designs of up to 18 inches. Electric and hybrid models often include unique badging and aerodynamic wheel covers to maximise efficiency.
Cabin layout follows Peugeot’s i-Cockpit philosophy with a compact steering wheel, digital instrument display, and central 10-inch touchscreen infotainment. Rear seat comfort is enhanced over the hatchback due to the longer wheelbase. Boot volume sits around 608 litres in petrol and electric versions; plug-in hybrid variants offer slightly reduced space of approximately 548 litres due to battery placement. Folding rear seats in a 40/20/40 split allow cargo expansion up to roughly 1,634 litres. Materials throughout are refined, with soft-touch surfaces, contrast stitching, and ambient lighting in higher-spec imports.
Imported trims often include adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go function, lane-keeping assistance, traffic sign recognition, blind-spot monitoring, and 360-degree camera systems in higher grades. Plug-in hybrid and electric versions include regenerative braking modes and selectable drive profiles. Matrix LED headlights are available on advanced versions for superior lighting. Stability and traction control, ABS with EBD, and multiple airbags are standard across most variants.
Since the 308 SW is not officially distributed in KSA, warranty and servicing depend entirely on importers. Limited warranties typically span one to three years and may include coverage for battery and hybrid systems on PHEV or electric models. Owners should ensure access to workshops experienced with Stellantis hybrid and EV platforms for diagnostics, battery servicing, and software updates. Parts availability for electrified models should also be confirmed. Reliable after-sales support in cities such as Riyadh and Jeddah is essential for confident long-term ownership.
In KSA’s parallel-import market, the 308 SW competes with estate models such as the Volkswagen Golf Variant, Skoda Octavia Combi, and Hyundai i30 Wagon. While those options may be sold locally, the 308 SW stands out through its electrified versions, striking design language, spacious luggage capacity, and premium feel. Particularly in its plug-in hybrid and electric variants, it offers efficiency and refinement less common in this class domestically.
