The Fiat 500e is a fully electric urban hatchback introduced in 2020 as the new generation of the iconic Fiat 500. It represents Fiat’s step into modern electric mobility, combining the charm of Italian design with sustainable, zero-emission driving. Though not officially sold in Saudi Arabia, the Fiat 500e is globally available and can be imported through independent EV specialists. It is targeted toward city-focused drivers seeking efficiency, style, and maneuverability in a compact format.
The Fiat 500e is offered with two electric motor configurations. The entry-level version utilizes a 70 kW motor, producing 95 horsepower, while the higher variant features an 87 kW motor, delivering 118 horsepower. Both engines drive the front wheels through a single-speed automatic transmission.
Battery options include a 24 kWh pack for the 95 hp version, offering a range suitable for short-distance city driving, and a 42 kWh battery for the 118 hp variant, providing a WLTP-rated range of approximately 320 km in combined conditions. The 500e supports up to 85 kW DC fast charging, allowing it to charge from 0 to 80 percent in approximately 35 minutes. Additionally, 11 kW AC charging is available for use at home or public stations.
The car measures approximately 3,632 mm in length, 1,748 mm in width, and 1,527 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,322 mm. The compact size makes it highly maneuverable in city traffic and easy to park, while the boot capacity offers around 550 liters, expandable by folding the rear seats.
The Fiat 500e retains the retro-inspired curves of its predecessor but updates them with smoother lines, modern LED lighting, and aerodynamic enhancements. Features like flush door handles, a closed grille, and available two-tone paint elevate its contemporary look. The vehicle is offered in hatchback, convertible, and 3+1 door formats, with unique paint and trim options that allow for personalization.
Inside, the Fiat 500e embraces a minimalist, tech-forward design. Materials include recycled fabrics, vegan leather options, and soft-touch finishes that align with its eco-conscious theme. The dashboard features a 10.25-inch touchscreen with Fiat’s Uconnect 5 system, while a 7-inch digital driver display presents key information. Higher trims offer heated seats, automatic climate control, and ambient lighting, making the cabin feel both premium and inviting for its segment.
The Fiat 500e comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of driver assistance features, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, and traffic sign recognition. The infotainment system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as over-the-air updates and built-in navigation. Additional tech highlights include a wireless smartphone charger and integrated voice assistant capabilities.
As an import, the Fiat 500e does not come with a factory warranty in KSA. Independent dealers typically offer third-party warranty packages, often covering the high-voltage battery for up to eight years or 100,000 kilometers. Maintenance is minimal due to the EV powertrain and includes software updates, brake servicing, and battery system checks. Specialist EV workshops in the Kingdom provide service and diagnostics, with parts sourced through Fiat’s international supply network.
In the KSA market, where it is available through importers, the Fiat 500e competes with compact EVs such as the Mini Electric, Honda e, MG4 EV, and the Renault Zoe. Its unique blend of retro-modern styling, compact agility, and efficient electric performance makes it a standout choice for urban drivers seeking an upscale yet practical electric vehicle.
