Saudi Arabia has entered a thrilling new chapter in global motorsport as construction officially begins on the Qiddiya Speed Park, a world-class racing complex located just outside Riyadh. Designed to host both Formula 1 and MotoGP events, this project is one of the most ambitious motorsport developments in the world. It is a cornerstone of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 plan to diversify its economy and become a leading international destination for sports and entertainment.
Part of the wider Qiddiya City megaproject, the Qiddiya Speed Park will anchor a dynamic entertainment hub that will feature theme parks, luxury resorts, and lifestyle attractions. Once completed, it will symbolize Saudi Arabia’s growing reputation for innovation, ambition, and sporting excellence.
Designed for Drama: 21 Turns and 70 Meters of Elevation
Tilke Engineers has designed the Qiddiya Speed Park in collaboration with former Formula 1 driver Alex Wurz and the creative minds behind many of the world’s most iconic racetracks. The circuit layout features 21 corners and a dramatic “Blade” section with an elevated Turn 1, which rises nearly 70 meters above the start-finish straight. This, in turn, promises a one-of-a-kind experience for both drivers and spectators.
With its sweeping elevation changes and bold design, the track aims to redefine racing in the region and deliver a visual and competitive spectacle unmatched on the Formula 1 calendar.
World-Class Design, World-Class Vision
Built to FIA Grade 1 and FIM Grade A standards, the Qiddiya Speed Park will meet all the requirements to host top-tier motorsport events. Tilke Engineers are overseeing development to ensure international certification and safety compliance.
Early construction has focused on grading terrain for the elevated sectors and building the pit complex and paddock area. Completion is targeted for 2027, when the venue is expected to host Saudi Arabia’s second Formula 1 Grand Prix, alongside the Jeddah Corniche Circuit.
The Beating Heart of Qiddiya City
More than just a racetrack. The Qiddiya Speed Park will be the centerpiece of Qiddiya City, envisioned as a global entertainment and lifestyle destination. Combining motorsport, leisure, and culture. It will attract millions of visitors annually and transform Riyadh’s outskirts into a vibrant symbol of Saudi progress.
As engines prepare to roar across the desert hills, the Qiddiya Speed Park is poised to put Saudi Arabia firmly in the fast lane of the world’s motorsport future.
