KSA Driving Tests

The KSA driving test is designed to assess your driving skills and knowledge of traffic signs, rules, and regulations. It can be challenging to pass without proper preparation. However, numerous institutes and resources are available to help you prepare, offering practice tests and study materials. Familiarizing yourself with these resources will boost your confidence and increase your chances of passing the tests effortlessly.

You need to pass three different types of KSA driving tests to acquire a driving license. If you fail any of these tests, you will have to reapply after some preparation.

First Test

Initially, they will test your basic driving skills. For the first test, you will be asked to choose a vehicle. There are two queues for this test, one for manual and the other for automatic driving. You must select a code from the queue after choosing the vehicle. Please note that the instructor may have limited English language skills. Therefore, memorize a few basic Arabic words, such as “left,” “right,” “straight,” “drive,” “move,” “stop,” “start,” and “reverse,” for your convenience. This will help you understand the instructor better, and you can perform well in your first driving trial.

Additionally, remember to adjust the seat, rearview mirror, and side mirrors, and buckle the seatbelt. Doing so will impress the instructor with your knowledge of safety precautions while driving.

Computer Tests

You will be awarded a grade from A to D based on your performance on the first test. If you are granted an A, you will then be required to take a computer-based test. You will be given a computer test slip from the counter. The date and timing will be mentioned on the slip. You have to come to Dallah Driving School and take a computer test on your turn. In a computer test, there are approximately 30 questions in a multiple-choice format, and you are required to answer at least 21 to pass the test.

You are required to make a maximum of two mistakes in this test. The computer test questions consist of identifying multiple road signs and learning about traffic rules and regulations in Saudi Arabia. After appearing in the computer test, your result will be announced shortly via SMS.

Additionally, before appearing in the computer test, you can attend a class for 100 SAR to get an idea of the types of questions in it.

Final Test

After completing the computer test, you will be called for the final test. The final test is a practical evaluation of your driving skills. In this test, you will demonstrate your car parking and reversing skills practically. You control the car, and how you handle the vehicle in difficult situations is tested in the final test. If you pass this test, you will be eligible to obtain a driving license. You will be allowed to drive safely around KSA after you have qualified for all three tests. However, if you fail any of the tests, you will be asked to enroll in a driving institute and prepare for the driving tests.

Dallah Driving School

In case of a failure in any of the tests, you must enroll in a Dallah Driving School. It is the official driving school in KSA. The cost of Dallah Driving School depends on the number of hours and classes you attend. For a six-hour course, SAR 690 is charged, which enhances your driving skills. It teaches an applicant how to park, back up, and drive a car. They will prepare you for the final test and help you understand the importance of road signs on Saudi streets.
