Bentley Reveals The 2027 Continental GT Supersports

0 18

Bentley has officially revealed the 2027 Bentley Continental GT Supersports, introducing a dramatic shift in philosophy for the brand’s high-performance grand tourers, focusing on performance rather than chasing higher power figures or hybrid enhancements. The company has shaped this model around handling precision, significant weight reduction, and a raw, engaging driving experience.

Bentley describes the new variant as engineered with “unfiltered potency”, created for drivers who value connection and control above all else.

Powertrain and Performance

The heart of the 2027 Bentley Continental GT Supersports is a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 that produces 657 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. Unlike recent Continental GTs, this model abandons hybrid technology and all-wheel drive, embracing a pure rear-wheel-drive layout. Bentley estimates a 0–60 mph time of 3.3 seconds and a top speed close to 192 mph.

One of the most notable upgrades is the massive weight reduction. Bentley states the new model sheds approximately 1,000 pounds compared with previous Continental GT versions, bringing its weight below 4,400 pounds. This makes the car the lightest Continental GT the brand has ever produced. According to Bentley, the focus has been on delivering “a more intense, more involving performance” rather than chasing ultimate speed.

Design and Engineering Enhancements

To achieve its dramatic weight loss, the 2027 Bentley Continental GT Supersports features carbon-fiber body panels, reduced insulation, and the deletion of the rear seats. A titanium Akrapovič exhaust system further trims weight while amplifying engine sound.

Despite its purist orientation, the car retains advanced technology such as four-wheel steering, air suspension, and Bentley’s 48-volt active anti-roll system, ensuring the car remains balanced between sharp handling and grand-touring comfort. Inside, the cabin is strictly a two-seater, creating a focused environment that aligns with the model’s performance-oriented goals.

Pricing, Production, and Market Impact

Bentley will build only 500 units of the 2027 Bentley Continental GT Supersports for the global market, with pricing expected to start above $486,000. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in early 2027, and orders will open from March 2026, according to Bentley.

With this model, Bentley signals a bold transition. A move away from complex hybrid systems toward lighter engineering and mechanical purity. The 2027 Bentley Continental GT Supersports represents a striking evolution. Blending modern technology with traditional performance values sets it apart from previous Continental GT generations.
